"What are you doing?" I asked Taylor as I walked into his room. He was laying on the floor in the corner and had his hands and feet in the air.
"I'm pretending I'm falling." He said.
"What?" I asked.
"Nevermind. Sorry." He said, and sat up. "Somtimes I get lost in thought and act weird."
"Aparently so." I said, and smiled. I sat down his bed, and he sat down next to me. He had been out of the hospital for two weeks, and Tracy and I were the only ones that knew he was home.
"You look purty." He said, and I laughed.
"Shut up!" I told him.
"Did you get my postcard?" He asked me.
"Yes, I did. It was very sweet." I told him.
"Sweet enough for a kiss?" He asked.
"No, not that sweet." I told him. He was acting so much like his old self it almost hurt. It reminded me of our old times together.
"Because of Luken?" He asked me.
"I like Luken. But we aren't going anywhere with anything until I can figure myself out." I told him. "And your hair is a mess!"
"Sorry." He said, and smoothed it down with his hands.
"You should get out of this dark room for a while!" I told him. "Lets go and get some coffee or something.
"I don't want to. I'm afraid to leave." He said.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because in here I can't hurt anyone." He answered.
"Except for yourself. Come on, we'll go now." I told him, and stood up. He looked nervous. I wasn't used to ever seeing him look that way.
"Come on." I told him.
"Okay." He said, and stood up. He put his shoes on and a hoodie. It was the same hoddie he was wearing when he got in the fight with Luken. It made me shudder.
"Whats wrong?" He asked me.
"Nothing. Come on." I said, and we left. We walked a block to a coffee shop and went in. I ordered some coffee and a giant cookie while Taylor sat down. I walked back over with the coffee and almost dropped it when I looked at someone sitting in the corner only a few tables from us. "Please don't look up." I said to myself. And he did, with a very confused look on his face.
"I'll be right back." I told Taylor, and walked over to Ted.
"What are you doing in this area?" He asked me. Then he glanced over and saw Taylor sitting at the table. He sat up straight and gave me a very confused look.
"Long story." I told him.
"One I expect you to tell me later." He said.
"I will. I promise." I told him.
"Be careful." He said.
"Don't tell any-"
"I wont. Just be careful. I'll see later." He said, and stood up and left. I walked back over to Taylor and sat down.
"Everything okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, fine." I told him, and sipped some coffee. He smiled at me, then suddenly got a look anger and fear on his face. It looked like he was looking behind me. I turned around and a group of three guys came walking in, laughing. One of them knocked over some ladies cup of coffee.
"Hey!" She shouted, but silenced when she looked up at the guys.
"Let me guess, you know those assholes?" I whispered to Taylor.
"Yeah." he said. and pulled his hood over his head and shrank down a little in his chair.
One of the guys walked over, and put his hand on my shoulder. He didn't notice Taylor aparently.
"Hey beautiful." The guy said.
"Shove it." I told him.
"Excuse me? We've got a saucy one here boys." The guy said.
"Hey, hands off her." Taylor said, sitting up. He let his hood fall off.
"Taylor?" The guy asked confused. "Man, I thought you were in prison or something."
"I was." Taylor lied.
"Man, How come you didn't tell us you were out?" He asked, pulling a chair up to the table and sitting down.
"I just got out. I figured it would be bad news for me to hang out around everyone. Not while I'm on probabion." He said.
"Ahh, smart. Well, try to sneak by. We miss you around bro." The guy said.
"Sure." Taylor said, but didn't sound too convincing. The got up and rejoined his tow friends.
"That is why I didn't want to leave my room." Taylor said.
"It's okay. You did good. He believes you." I told him.
"I don't know. Now he's going to tell everyone I'm out. Mr. Sharpe is going to want to see me." He said.
"Mr. Sharpe?" I asked.
"Yeah. He's uh...fuck. I shouldn't have told you his name." He said.
"It's okay. I wont ask again." I told him.
His old friends where up at the counter causing some kind of fuss.
"Can we get out of here?" He asked, looking really anxious.
"Yeah, of course. Let's go." I said, and we both got up and left. Taylor was quiet while we walked around.
"We can go back if you want." I told him.
"Nah, it's okay. I like seeing you." He said.
"I can hang out for a little while. I don't mind. You just seem nervous."
"I am. It's dumb, but I can't help it." He said.
"It's not. Come, on. We'll go back." I said. He just smiled, and we headed back to his apartment. When we got there Tracy looked like he was in a panic.
"Whats up?" Taylor asked him when we walked in.
"Mr. Sharpe has been calling here for the last hour and a half! He knows you aren't in prison. He wants to speak to you. About your last-" Tracy stopped and looked at me. "Last assignment." He said.
Taylor's face went white.
"Fuck. What did you say?" He asked Tracy.
"I said you would call him when you got back. I don't think he believes me though.
"Shit." He said. He pulled Tracy into his room so they could talk.
"Okay then," I said to myself. I just kind of stood there and looked around. There was much of anything in the place. I noticed a couple chunks of paper on the floor by the garbage. It looked like someone had ripped up the paper, and not all the pieces made it in the trash.
"Messy guys." I said, and bent down and picked them up to throw away. I noticed a few letters first, and read part of a name on one of the pieces.
"No." I said. I looked at Taylor's room, and I could still hear them in there talking, so I reached in the trash and pulled out a few more pieces of the paper and pieced to gehter the top part.

Luken "Lee" James
Calven Stuart

And a few other names where written on it. Just then Taylor and Tracy walked out.
"What is this?" I asked. Tracy froze.
"Thats...um. That was my botched mission." He said, looking really upset.
"Botched mission? What was this misison?" I asked.
"I can't tell you." He said.
"Why? If you botched it, it's over. Isn't it?" I asked.
"Yes. I want it to be. But you just can't back out of-"He stopped before he said whatever it was he was suposed to have done.
"Are you using me to get to Luken?" I asked him.
"NO!" He shouted.
"I don't believe you." I said, feeling nervous and angry.
"It's true! We were trailing Lee and Calven. Running into you that night was an accident." He said.
"Trailing him? Why?" I asked. He looked down at his feet. I started backing up toward the door.
"Please! Don't go." He pleaded.
"I don't believe you!" I shouted, and ran out the door. I heard him shout after me, but I didn't look back. I just kept running. I was so deep in thought that I didn't bother to get on the bus. I just walked home. When I got to the apartment and opened the door, it was full. Ceci, Olie, Ted, Luken, Stuart, Dryden. They where all there.
"Are you okay?" Dryden asked, walking over to me and giving me a hug.
"NO!" I shouted, and started to cry.
"What happened?" Luken asked. I pulled away from Dryden and walked over to Luken.
"I wasn't at the library these last two weeks. I was seeing Taylor." I told him.
"I know." He said.
"What?" I asked.
"I told them I saw you. After you didn't come home right away." Ted said. "Sorry."
"It's okay." I told him.
"Austin, what happened?" Luken asked me. I told him about the paper I found at Taylor's apartment.
"FUCK." Stuart said.
"What?" I asked.
"Was my name on there?" Dryden asked.
"No. But I only saw the first few names." I told him.
"They may not know I'm here yet then. My name would have been first on the list." He said.
"WHAT FUCKING LIST? What is going on?" I shouted.
"Something we all thought we left behind." Luken said.
"Sis. The three of us have to go. I promise we will come back here tonight, but there is something we have to do right now." Dryden said. Dryden, Luken, and Stuart all started to leave.
"You guys are freaking me out." I said.
"Just stay here. Olie, Ted, stay with the girls." Stuart said. The three of them left. I turned around and faced Ceci, Olie, and Ted who all looked as confused as me.
