"I'm sorry." Luken said. He had walked me up to my apartment. Olie, Ted, and Ceci went to Olie's, so it was just Luken and I ouside of mine.
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked him.
"I couldn't. You've got to understand. You shouldn't even know what you do. You could be in trouble now." He said.
"It's just all a little overwhelming." I told him, and a tear ran down my cheek. He wiped it away with his thumb, and then I started to really cry. Everything from the night before caught up to me. He took me inside and sat down on the couch and held me.
"I'm so sorry." He whispered.
"I'm scared." I told him.
"Of what?" He asked.
"For you, and Dryden, and Tyler and Tracy, and now Olie and Ceci and Ted." I said.
"It's okay. It'll all work out, trust me." He said.
"How do you know?" I asked.
"I just know." He said.
"Well FUCK YOU!" I shouted, and pushed him away.
"Baby. Shhhh." He said, and hugged me.
"NO! FUCK Everyone! All those fucking bastards!" I sobbed. Luken just held me. After a few minutes I was able to calm down.
"I'm sorry." I whispered, and wiped my eyes.
"Don't be sorry. You deserve to yell and fucking scream all you want. It's not fair that you got dragged into this." He said, and kissed my cheek.
"It's not fair for you either." I said.
"I got myself into this baby." He said.
"Why?" I asked. He just shrugged.
"Because I need to make up for stuff I used to be a part of." He said. This time I hugged him.
"I have to go for a little while. Stuart and I need to go meet up with some people. We've got to sort things out." He said.
"Can you come back tonight?" I asked him.
"I promise." He said, and kissed me. I kissed him for a minute. I didn't want him to leave.
"Stuart is still waiting in the van. I have to go." He said.
"Okay. Bye." I said, and walked him out. I kissed him one more time then shut and locked the door. I wanted to be alone for a while. I walked to my room and layed down in bed. I was thinking about everything that just happened, and had happened over the last few months. Suddenly something clicked in my head.
"Mom." I said, and picked up my phone. I called my dad.
"Hello." My dad answered.
"Dad?" I asked.
"Yeah."
"Dad, what happened to mom?" I asked him.
"She died, sweetie. You know that." He said.
"How." I asked.
"You know how-"
"HOW! Don't lie to me. Not right now."
There was a heavy sigh.
"I don't know exactly. But I'll tell you what I do know." He said.
